Model Trains and train tracks with locomotives and freight cars

Model Trains

From the first electric trains that appeared in 1897 from the Carlisle & Finch company, to the multiple gage ranges available today, electric model trains have not only been one of the most wanted toys for Christmas, but also are in big demand for eccentric model railroaders. Just ask Gomez Adams. Names like Lionel and Bachmann have been the choice of serious model railroaders for generations. From the Chattanooga Choo Choo to the Polar Express, just about every popular name has had a train named for them, like the Beatles, Harry Potter, and more. Some very famous people that you never would expect have enjoyed building their highly detailed model railroad layouts. Elton John has a model railroad running through his garden. Tom Hanks’ love of model trains reportedly signed on as a voice actor in the 2004 film The Polar Express because of love of model trains. And there are many others, like Gene Hackman, Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra, Ringo Starr, Rod Stewart, and many more. You’re in good company if you love model trains!
